Center for Arts at the Armory | Somerville, MA
For Art Book Club’s second project, we focused on the digital transfer of artwork via an artist feed (see below for a link to the archived work). Each week, the group committed to a size and theme (selected at random at the beginning of the project) to base their artwork around. Each artist was responsible for submitting an original piece on a designated day of the week to the artist feed. In order to develop conversation, each member commented with creative feedback on each others work. A digital outlet permitted the artists to create in a way that was multidimensional, unique, and personal.
Another aspect was added to the project through the use of open calls for art, where we asked the public to create along with the artists. Participants followed the theme and size of the week, and sent photographs of their work that were published on the artist feed.
